1) High Impact Software Engineering in the Real World

In the first session of the talk, Derianto hopes to illustrate how software engineering insights can solve real world problems and create meaningful impact. He hopes that this can expand the horizon of the audience on how deep algorithms and system design knowledge can be very useful. And that real world software engineering problems can be really fun and rewarding!

2) On Tech Entrepreneurship

In the subsequent session, Derianto will be sharing his own startup journey and talking the different facets of creating a startup.

Speaker Profile

Born and raised in Indonesia, Derianto Kusuma studied computer science at Stanford in 2006-2010, worked at Microsoft and LinkedIn before returning to Indonesia in 2012 to start Traveloka as a Co-founder & CTO, one of the earliest unicorn tech companies in the region, reaching its unicorn status in the year 2017. After stepping down in 2019, he now lives in Singapore, running Sembly, an early stage startup that is still in stealth
